Leaving the grassland one continues up into the lower slopes.

The trees are close together the understory is dense and the crowns of the trees interlace.

The trees are a mixture of Yellow Box (E. melliodora), Red Gum (E. blakelyi) and
Apple Box (E. bridgesiana).
